Israel to legalise illegal West Bank settlement

Israel is to legalise an illegal settlement built on private Palestinian land in the West Bank city of Ramallah, Israeli media revealed yesterday.

According to the Israeli news website Walla, the Israeli public prosecution passed a decision legalising the illegal settlement of Adi Ad to the Israeli Supreme Court.

The decision of the public prosecution came in response to the appeal filed by the Israeli human rights group Yesh Din.

Yesh Din filed the appeal at the end of the last year in the name of the Palestinian residents of the affected Palestinian villages, calling for the illegal settlement to be evacuated.

Residents of the affected Palestinian villages organised protests and demonstrations calling for their land to be returned to them, the Israeli army dispersed them violently.
