Tunisair stops flights to Dubai over mounting losses

October 27, 2015 at 3:01 pm

Tunisair has suspended flights to Dubai flight as of Sunday, the company announced yesterday.

Tunisian radio said the state-run company’s decision comes in light of strong competition by UAE and Qatari airways which run daily flights from Tunisia to the Gulf emirate.

Tunisair has suffered from a steady decline in revenues following two deadly terrorist attacks this year against the national Bardo museum and a Sousse beach resort.

According to company figures the number of passengers has declined by 10 per cent during the first half of this year compared to the same period last year.

Management said the decision will help reduce losses.
