Al-Waleed Bin Talal denies pro-Israel statements

Saudi Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal yesterday denied media reports claiming he would support Israel if a new Palestinian uprising broke out.

The prince’s office described the article by AWDNews as “completely bogus and untrue”, adding that he had not spoken to the Kuwaiti media outlet mentioned in the article or made any of the statements attributed to him.

Al-Waleed’s office said the site in question had “repeatedly spread false and fabricated material about Prince Al-Waleed without confirming the authenticity with his office.”

AWDNews had reported that the Saudi prince had said that he would side with Israel if a Palestinian uprising were to begin and that he would attempt to break any Arab initiatives set to condemn the Jewish nation.

“I will side with the Jewish nation and its democratic aspirations in case of the outbreak of a Palestinian Intifada [uprising],” he was quoted as saying.
