A septuagenarian Yemeni woman has donated her wealth to the Popular Resistance, which is fighting against the Houthi rebels and allied forces loyal to ousted President Ali Abdullah Saleh. Local sources said that the “just cause and honour of the resistance” were the impetus for the elderly lady to give her wealth in this way.
The woman’s home town has been targeted by Houthi artillery, with many residents killed and wounded.
A neighbour of the old lady, Mohsin Faisal, said that she did more than donate her wealth to the resistance cause; she also took up a weapon and took part in the battles aimed to protect Yemen.
According to activist Mohamed Hizbar, this will encourage other women across the country to follow her example and fight for their just cause.
