Erekat: Kerry’s visit brings nothing new

November 26, 2015 at 10:17 am

PLO Chief Negotiator Saeb Erekat has said that the recent Ramallah visit by US Secretary of State John Kerry, where he met with PA President Mahmoud Abbas, has not brought anything new to the table.

On Tuesday evening, Kerry met with Abbas as part of his visit to the region that aims at calming the current conflict between Israel and Palestine over Al-Quds..

Erekat added that Kerry called for securing a truce between the two parties so as to be able to put forward political solutions to the stalemate. The PLO member confirmed that Abbas presented five files to Kerry detailing the PA’s conditions for a truce, including Israel releasing the bodies of 36 Palestinians killed by security services, and the cessation of Israeli settlement activities, Israeli incitement, arrests and executions.
