French air force ‘kills 28 children in attack on Iraqi school’

An Iraqi military source in Nineveh province announced on Wednesday that 28 children have been killed by a French air force attack on a primary school near the city of Mosul.

“The French aircraft bombed Fatima Zahra Primary School on Wednesday,” explained Brigadier-General Thanon Sabawi. “The attack killed 28 children and wounded five others.”

The victims, he said, were taken to local hospitals. Confirmation is still awaited from the health authorities in Mosul.
