Syrian regime forces, the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) and Daesh have increased their attacks to control strategic corridors between the Turkish border and the city of Aleppo with aerial support from Russian warplanes, Turkey’s Anadolu Agency reported.

The agency reported local sources as saying that Daesh fighters advanced from the Soran district, north of Aleppo, towards the villages of Kafrah and Jarz, south-east of Azzaz in the suburbs of Aleppo, with Russian air cover and controlled them after fierce battles with opposition factions.

Russian fighter jets are reported to have carried out raids against the villages of Kaljibrin, Karam Al-Turab and Kasathelo, north of Aleppo, controlled by Syrian opposition groups which are also fighting the Kurdish People’s Protection Units on the ground.

Russian fighter jets also targeted on Tuesday the villages of Tenb, Kashtaar and Maalikia, which are controlled by opposition groups.

Last week, Kurdish units began to advance towards the cities of Kobani and Afrin near Aleppo with Russian aerial support.

Kurdish militants have been waging attacks against Azzaz, which is controlled by opposition groups who are also fighting Daesh.

According to local sources, the towns of Deir Jamal, Mreimin, Malkiyeh and Zyar, east of the city of Afrin and controlled by the opposition, have come under attack by Kurdish militants with Russian support for a week.
