Meshaal begins official visit to Malaysia

Chief of Hamas Political Bureau Khalid Meshaal arrived in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur today on the start of a four-day visit to the country. The visit is an acceptance of an invitation extended by the ruling party in Malaysia, United Malays National Organisation (UMNO).

In addition to Meshaal, the delegation includes Deputy Chief of Hamas Political Bureau Mousa Abu-Marzouk and Political Bureau members Mohamed Nazzal and Maher Obeid, according to Hamas’s official website.

The website also stated that the Hamas delegation is scheduled to attend the annual UMNO conference, as well as a number of meetings with Malaysian ministers and heads of political parties.

Meshaal is expected to address the public at the end of the four-day visit.
