Sudanese former President, Abdel Rahman Suwar al-Dahab has called on Egypt to review its policies towards the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas in light of the Israeli brutal aggression against it.

In an interview with Quds Press news agency on Monday, Dahab said “Hamas could not be a terrorist organisation in any way, and those who described it as such are the occupying enemies after they had failed to uproot it from its land”.

“Hamas defends the Palestinians rights and the movement must expand” he added.

The former president said “the Palestine issue is receiving less attention in the Arab and Muslim world” adding that he believed that Arab countries should hold an urgent summit to reaffirm their support for Palestine, in light of the recent escalations in occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank; but unfortunately this has not happened.”

Field Marshal Al Dahab was the president of Sudan from April 1985 until May 1986.
