Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri denied on Sunday that there were any kind of talks between his country and Turkey, Rassd.com reported.

In an interview with Al-Wattan newspaper Shukri reportedly said: “I know nothing about these claimed negotiations. When I visited [Saudi] Kingdom, we did not mention anything about this.”

However, he added: “But we consulted several European partners and other partners from the Islamic Conference (Organisation) to clarify certain issues.”

Shukri continued: “Turkish practices do not keep up with the international relations and the rule of not interfering in other countries’ internal affairs.” He noted that there are several TV channels broadcast from Turkey that represent “terrorists”.

In addition, he said that Turkey affords a resort for the “terrorists” to hold cooperation meetings aiming to “destablise” Egypt.

“We have repeatedly called on Turkey to stop this as such issues are considered non-positive deeds and includes intervention in other countries’ internal affairs,” Shukri said, but stressed there were no “direct” political contact.

He said that he met the Turkish FM on the margins of the Libyan and Syrian meetings, but reiterated that there was no discussion regarding mutual relations.
