Hamas chief Khaled Meshaal said yesterday that his movement will take urgent action to help solve the Palestinian refugee crisis in Lebanon following UNRWA’s decision to reduce financial aid to them.
In a statement, Meshaal said Hamas stands by the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon and supports their demands.
“We will take urgent action with the parties concerned to help solve the aid reduction crisis,” he said.
UNRWA announced that it had decided to reduce aid allocated for Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.
According to the new decision, Palestinian refugees in Lebanon now have to pay 20 per cent of medical costs in government, NGO and private hospitals.
