Israel, PA discuss security issues in secret meetings

Israeli officials discussed the security situation during secret meetings with the Palestinian Authority, PalSawa reported Israeli Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot saying yesterday.

Speaking to the Foreign and Security Committee of the Israeli Knesset, Eizenkot said the meetings aimed to improve the security and livelihood of both sides.

He also revealed that Israel planned to implement understandings which were agreed upon first in Jericho and Ramallah and then in other Palestinian cities in the occupied West Bank.

The official said Israeli forces would not interfere in Palestinian affairs if they maintained tranquillity.
