Head of the Palestinian Prisoners and Freed Prisoners’ Committee Issa Qaraqei said on Wednesday that a number of Palestinian prisoners were admitted to hospital after Israeli forces stormed Nafha Prison, Arabs48.com reported.
The committee said that a large number of Israeli soldiers stormed department 14 of Nafha Prison, causing causalities among prisoners as tens of them were admitted to Soroka Hospital in the Negev.
According to the committee, the prisoners were surprised by the Israeli attack, during which soldiers reportedly used batons, tear gas and pepper spray.
In a statement, it said that the Israeli army had beaten prisoners indiscriminately, noting that a number of those attacked were already sick.
The committee reported instability and tension among all prisoners following the attack, noting that Israeli forces continued their presence around the prison.
It added that there was no apparent reason for the attack and the prison had been stable.
