Iran concluded on Thursday a three-day military exercise to review the Iranian Revolutionary Guards’ military capabilities and preparedness. Tehran said the military exercise, dubbed Great Prophet, began Tuesday in the provinces of Sistan and Baluchestan, South Khorasan, Kerman and Hormozgan and included the participation of the Iranian air force, elite units and local forces.

Commander of the Iranian Army’s Ground Force Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said the exercises included new weapons which have recently joined the army’s fleet, including the Iran-made Karrar tank.

Iran’s Fars news agency reported the Iranian Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli as saying that a meeting will be held between Iranian and Pakistani security officials and senior intelligence officers during the next three weeks to discuss “common security threats”.

Fazli said his country and Pakistan share common perspectives on some of the issues of concern in the region.
