The Israeli authorities have prevented Basil Nasser, the head of the UNDP’s Gaza office, from returning to the Gaza Strip, a Palestinian source told Sawa news agency.
The sources added that there are high-level efforts being made to enable Nasser to return to Gaza.
Palestinian sources said on 13 April that Israel revoked licenses offered to a number of staff members of international organisations and diplomatic missions working in Gaza.
Sources confirmed to Sawa that the Israeli authorities refused to renew those licenses under security-related pretexts, adding that such measures started more than two months ago.
