The Israeli authorities closed the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron to Muslim worshippers on Monday and Tuesday while Jewish worshippers were allowed to enter the mosque freely.

Hifzi Abu Sneineh, the Ibrahimi Mosque manager, told Quds Press on Sunday that the Israeli authorities notified them of the decision to close Ibrahimi Mosque starting Monday evening until Tuesday evening “under the pretext of the Jewish Passover holiday”.

The Israeli authorities close Ibrahimi Mosque during the Jewish holidays in line with a decision made by the Israel Shamgar Commission, which was formed after the Ibrahimi Mosque massacre in 1994 and divided the mosque.
