Three children die in Gaza blaze

May 7, 2016 at 1:08 pm

Three children died in a fire which destroyed their home in Gaza’s Shati on Friday night. The fire started when the children were lighting candles in their room. Residents in the enclave have been using candles and lamps because of extended electricity shortages resulting from the Israeli blockade.

The ministry of health named the children as: Yusra Muhammad Abu Hindi, three years-old, her sister Rahaf, two, 2 and a brother, Nasir, two months old. Three other children suffered severe burns.

Speaking at the funeral of the three children today, Ismail Haniyeh, deputy head of Hamas political bureau demanded answers as to who was responsible, saying that $70 million are taken in taxes from Gaza every month and yet they are denied gas.
