OIC appoints first representative in Palestine

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Monday announced the appointment of Ahmad Al-Ruwaidy as the manager of its representative office in Palestine.

The organization said in a statement that OIC Secretary-General Iyad Madani received Al-Ruwaidy in his office in Jeddah on Monday.

Madani said during the meeting that he hopes that the organization’s office in the city of Ramallah would strengthening the organization’s role in supporting the Palestinian people and contribute to the building of Palestinian national institutions.

The Council of Foreign Ministers of Member States of the OIC approved in its 42nd session, which was held in Kuwait, the establishment of a representative office in Ramallah, Palestine.
