Netanyahu: ‘Every Jew can call Israel home’

“Every Jew can call Israel home,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wrote on Twitter yesterday.

Netanyahu’s message came during a live question and answer session on the social media website and in response to a questioned by Twitter user E. S. Martinez who wrote: “#Asknetanyahu You think you have the right to act on behalf of not only #Israel but the #Jewish people?”

The Israeli official went on to encourage Jews to move to Israel, telling one Tzvi Zucker: “Immigrants contribute greatly to Israel. Send CV,” when asked if he had any job vacancies in his office.

Regarding the peace process, Netanyahu said: “My vision for peace is clear; two states for two peoples, a demilitarised Palestinian state which recognises the Jewish state.”

“I hope that peace will be achieved soon. That’s why I invited President Abbas to hold talks. Unfortunately, he refused my invitation.”

The Twitter campaign was set up on Israeli Independence Day, also the day Palestinian commemorate the Nakba which led to the ethnic cleansing of between 750,000 and one million Palestinians.

It was deemed a disaster for Netanyahu’s office as the majority of questions tweeted at the prime minister revolved around Israel’s human rights record, abuse of children, and illegal annexation of Palestinian property and land.
