Egypt approves customs agreement with Russia

May 23, 2016 at 2:23 pm

The Egyptian Plan and Budget Committee has approved a customs agreement with Moscow.

Egypt’s Customs Authority Commissioner, Magdi Abdul Aziz, said that Russia was still imposing taxes on Egyptian exports in a manner which is rejected by the World Trade Organisation.

Abdul Aziz’s remarks came during the committee’s discussion of the president’s decision to approve the agreement signed with Moscow on mutual administrative assistance in matters of customs and combating customs offenses.

Abdul Aziz said the head of the Russian Customs Service receives a full report of Egyptian export prices every three months.
