Israel arrests 10 Palestinian fishermen near Gaza

May 23, 2016 at 10:11 am

Israeli naval forces yesterday arrested ten Palestinian fishermen near the Gaza Strip. The head of the Palestinian Fishermen’s Association in Gaza, Nizar Ayyash, told Quds Press that the Israeli navy arrested eight Palestinian fishermen and confiscated their boats in the early hours of the morning.

Two fishermen were later arrested when they arrived at the site where their colleagues had been captured, he explained.

The fishermen were captured within six nautical miles of the Gaza coastline, Ayyash said, well within the allowed parameters for Gaza fishermen.

Ten more fishermen were arrested in the same location last week and their boats were seized by Israeli forces.
