Coalition air force training ends in Turkey

Troops from eight countries have completed air attack training, in which live ammunition was used, in the Turkish city of Izmir as part of the EFES 2016 military exercises.

Military sources told the Anadolu Agency yesterday that the exercises, which ended on Tuesday, included attack drills at the heart of enemy territory and areas under enemy control, in addition to landing via helicopter and seizing control of targets in those areas.

It also carried out training on rocket launching systems from helicopters, and how to evacuate wounded soldiers.

Some 860 soldiers took part in the drills.

The United States, Britain, Germany, Saudi Arabia and Turkey all took part in the drills. Military personnel from 74 countries observed the military exercise.
