Emir of Qatar receives Libyan prime minister

The Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani received the Libyan Prime Minister Fayez Al-Sarraj yesterday.

Qatar News Agency reported that Al-Sarraj briefed the Emir on the latest developments in Libya, and efforts to establish and promote security and stability.

The two sides also discussed items that would preserve Libya’s unity and sovereignty over all its territory, especially in light of the growing threat of terrorism in the region and UN efforts to combat it.

During the meeting, Al-Thani stressed his country’s support for Libya and its people.

Over the past two months, the Libyan Parliament has failed to hold a vote of confidence on Al-Sarraj’s cabinet.
