Iran slams Saudi remarks about its relations with Iraq

May 28, 2016 at 2:05 pm

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hossein Ansari Jaberi slammed Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir over his criticism of the commander of Iran’s Al-Quds Brigades Qasim Suleimani regarding Iran’s relations with Iraq, Arabi21 reported on yesterday.

Jaberi said that Al-Jubeir must not ignore that his country is the “most dangerous” and the “top” supporter of terrorism and instability in the world.

“The Iraqi people do not need to know their interests, enemies and friends from remarks of a foreign minister of a state which is considered the top supporter of terrorism and a main cause of instability in Iraq, the region and the whole world,” Jaberi said.

He noted that the role of the Iranian military advisors in Iraq, under Suleimani’s leadership, came in response to requests by the Iraqi government.

Al-Jubeir has previously said that Suleimani is wanted on terror charges and that leaders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard are also included in terror blacklists.
