Bardawil: Hamas will not concede any of Palestine even if it accepts state on 1967 borders

Hamas accepts international efforts which help Palestinians regain their rights and ends the Israeli occupation, adding that it accepts a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, Quds Press reported.

Hamas spokesman Salah Al-Bardawil said: “Hamas is partaking in Swiss efforts aiming to reach an internal reconciliation and with the French efforts aiming to resume peace talks.”

“There have been and there are currently many European contacts with Hamas. We always tell them that we do not reject the establishment of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders based on what the Palestinian factions had agreed in the National Agreement Document.”

At the same time, Al- Bardawil stressed that this does not mean that Hamas changes its “principles” regarding the Palestinian right to liberate all of historic Palestine, including the right of the Palestinian refugees to return to their homes.

Meanwhile, the senior Hamas official downplayed the importance of the French peace initiative, noting that the US monopolises the decision regarding talks; however, it is biased to Israel. “It has never supported Palestinian rights,” he said. He added that the US is now busy with presidential elections.
