Palestinian-UAE crisis due to Abbas-Dahlan disagreements

June 1, 2016 at 2:56 pm

Informed sources have revealed a relations “crisis” between the Palestinian Authority (PA) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to the differences between the PA President Mahmoud Abbas and dismissed Fatah leader Mohammed Dahlan, QudsNet reported on Tuesday.

The differences have grown further as a result of rumours that the UAE is involved in the selling of Jerusalem’s Old City to settlement organisations.

According to the sources, the UAE has denied the rumours and threatened to stop its relations with the PA if the “false” remarks from senior PA officials regarding UAE’s role in Jerusalem are not stopped.

The sources have said that Abbas will send a senior delegation to the UAE to explain the situation.
