West Bank village declared ‘closed military zone’

Israeli forces stormed the village of Al-Taybeh, west of Jenin, and declared it a closed military zone yesterday, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA.

Local sources told Ma’an the closed military zone was implemented for several hours and soldiers prevented anyone from leaving or entering the village while they carried out raids.

An Israeli army spokesperson said she was looking into the reports.

Palestinian land in the occupied territory has frequently been declared closed military zones for alleged Israeli security reasons, with Israeli authorities restricting the movement of Palestinians living inside the zones and prohibiting non-residents from entering the areas.
