June 7, 2016 at 11:08 am

Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani asked the Iraqi government to work on freeing the Qatari citizens kidnapped in Iraq six months ago, AlKhaleejOnline reported yesterday.

Sheikh Tamim expressed his hope that the Iraqi government would double to search for and release the Qatari citizens and repatriate them as soon as possible.

During his meeting with the Qatari Emir in Doha, Iraqi Defence Minister Khalid Al-Obaidi said that his country’s government had been exerting all efforts to free the Qatari citizens and send them home.

About six months ago, 25 Qataris were kidnapped in areas controlled by the Iraqi government. One of the captives and his bodyguard were released four months later.
