Iran’s imports from the United States increased by 20 per cent in the first two months of the current fiscal year, which began on 21 March.
Iran’s semi-official news agency Tasnim reported that the Islamic Republic’s imports from the United States has increased to $51.349 million compared with the same period of last year.
Iran imported from the United States 60 tons of soybean seeds for $24 million, during the recent period, while Iranian media said the nuclear deal with Washington has prepared the ground for importing American-made goods.
The European Union and the United States announced the lifting of economic sanctions imposed on Iran in the wake of a nuclear deal signed with the country last year.
