Tunisia doubles scholarships for Palestinians

Tunisia has doubled the number of scholarships it issued to Palestinian students, Felesteen newspaper reported Palestinian Education Minister Sabri Saidam saying.

One hundred scholarships were made annually however this year, Tunisia is offering 100 scholarships for undergraduate degrees and a further 100 for postgraduate studies. Twenty scholarships were allocated to Palestinians in Jerusalem.

The announcement was made during a visit by Tunisian Ambassador to Palestine Al-Habib Ben Farah’s visit to Saidam’s office in Ramallah.

During the visit, Saidam hailed the Tunisian support for Palestinians and the Palestinian state, as well as the mutual relations between the two nations, noting that doubling the number of Tunisian scholarships reinforces the deep relations between the two nations.

Meanwhile, Farah announced his country’s readiness to support Palestinians in all fields, mainly education, noting the real investment is in this field as it qualifies the new generations to bear future responsibilities.
