June 24, 2016 at 11:47 am

Jordan has called on Amnesty International to put pressure on the international community to help with the large number of refugees present on Jordanian borders and receive more of them.

Amnesty International had called on Jordan to keep its borders open for refugees.

In response, the minister of state for media affairs and communications, who is the official spokesman for the Jordanian government said, “The groups stationed on the northern border are not a Jordanian problem, but an international problem, and international organizations should find a way to help them.”

“We will cooperate with these organisations,” Mohammed al-Momani added, stressing that Jordan’s security and stability are above all other considerations.
