Egypt places Morsi on ‘terror’ list

July 5, 2016 at 1:50 pm

Egypt’s official gazette yesterday revealed that a judicial decision was issued to include the country’s first democratically elected President Mohamed Morsi on terror lists, legal sources said.

In the first ruling of its kind, the Cairo Criminal Court included 35 defendants, including Morsi, on the terror list for a period of three years.

The verdict was issued after requests from prosecutors and following an investigation, the gazette added.

The court’s decision was issued on 14 April, stating that it would come into effect once the judicial decision is issued.
