Tunisia, Saudi discuss defence, security cooperation

Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi discussed the reinforcement of mutual defence and security cooperation with the Deputy Defence Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al-Ayesh, the Anadolu Agency reported yesterday.

In a statement issued by the Tunisian President’s office, the discussions covered “cooperation in the security and defence fields in light of the challenges facing the Arab region, mainly in the field of fighting terror.”

According to the statement, the Tunisian president renewed the full involvement of his country in international and regional efforts to fight terrorism.

Tunisia joining the Islamic Military Coalition, setup by Saudi Arabia, in December last year.
