A Bahraini court yesterday dissolved the main Shia opposition group, Al-Wefaq Association and seized its funds, local media reported.
The administrative court in Manama found the association guilty of harbouring terrorists among other charges.
On 14 June, the judiciary issued a decision to suspend Al-Wefaq Association and close its headquarters pending the outcome of a court case against the group.
The justice ministry filed a lawsuit demanding the association be dissolved on charges of providing a haven for “terrorism, radicalisation and violence” and opening the way for “foreign interference” in the kingdom’s affairs.
