Kuwait reiterates support for Turkey

Kuwait’s Acting Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah yesterday reiterated his country’s solidarity and support for Turkey and its measures to strengthen security and stability and the protection of its legitimacy and constitutional institutions.

This came during a meeting between Al- Sabah and Turkey’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Murad Tameer, the Kuwaiti News Agency reported.

Al- Sabah praised the “distinguished relations between both countries and peoples.”

Ambassador Tameer delivered a letter from Turkey’s Prime Minister Ali Yildirim to his Kuwaiti counterpart, Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, regarding bilateral relations and ways to enhance them in all fields as well as issues of common interest.

On Saturday, the Turkish parliament held an extraordinary session to discuss the recent developments in the country including the foiled coup attempt.
