US holds discussions on Libya

The United Stated yesterday called on Egypt, the UAE and Italy to meet to discuss the situation in Libya on the sidelines of an international summit of 44 countries being held to discuss the fight against Daesh, Quds Press reported.

The summit comes in the wake of a meeting held by Libya’s political parties on Monday in Tunisia. Organised by the UN Mission on Libya, the meeting discussed the prospective mechanisms of implementing a political agreement.

Members of the dialogue decided to hold regular meetings to follow up on measures to treat the crises in Libya, including electricity, cash flow, opening of closed roads, improving the security situation, carrying out political arrangements, resuming oil production and resolving economic problems.

They also called for the members, who are boycotting the presidential council, to resume their activities, carry out their missions and stick to the recommendations of the political dialogue.
