The Etihad Aviation Group (EAG) said on Monday that its holding company and the airlines in which it has shares will make a $10.7 billion contribution to the US economy in 2016, giving the UAE-based company a significant impact on one of the largest economies in the world. The group said in a statement that it will support around 108,000 jobs across the United States this year.

EAG has key interests in the US, operating via six gateway cities across the country. According to the financial statement, EAG and its partners’ core and tourism economic contribution in America will reach US$18.2 billion by 2024 and support 171,400 jobs.

The group’s economic contribution includes capital spending with US-based suppliers. This supports tens of thousands of domestic jobs, the statement pointed out.
