PA: Arabs should not normalise relations with Israel before peace is achieved

Arab and Islamic states should not normalise their relations with Israel until a just peace is achieved, the QudsNet reported the Palestinian Authority saying on Tuesday.

Welcoming the outcome of the Arab League summit, which reiterated the importance of supporting Palestinians in the face of the "systematic" Israeli aggression, the PA stressed that improved relations with Israel should come on condition that peace is achieved.

Apart from the Arab-Israeli relations, the PA ministerial council called on the Arab states to provide a financial safety network, which they pledged more than a decade ago.

It also called on them to fulfil their pledges regarding the support of Palestinians in occupied East Jerusalem, rebuilding the Gaza Strip and other assistance which aim to improve the economic situation in the Palestinian territories.
