Sudan nationalises Gulen-linked schools

Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir made the decision earlier in the year but “the instructions are now being expedited in light of the failed coup attempt in Turkey”

Sudan is nationalising schools run by the Fethullah Gulen movement, the Turkish Ambassador to Khartoum Cemalettin Aydin said yesterday.

Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir made the decision earlier in the year but “the instructions are now being expedited in light of the failed coup attempt in Turkey”, Aydin said.

Turkey’s Education Ministry has been asked to dispatch a delegation to Sudan “to provide help in the nationalisation process”.

Fethullah Gulen is thought to be the mastermind behind last month’s failed coup attempt in Turkey.
