August 11, 2016 at 2:30 pm

Israeli authorities yesterday approved the expropriation of Palestinian land in occupied East Jerusalem to build a synagogue, Haaretz reported.

“Jerusalem’s planning committee approved the expropriation of 1.2 dunams [0.012 square kilometres] from a Palestinian neighbourhood in Jerusalem,” the newspaper said.

“The ground being taken is near the Jewish settlement of Nof Zion in East Jerusalem, surrounded by houses from Palestinian village of Jabal Mukkaber.”

Meanwhile, the Safa news agency reported that the Israeli occupation authorities had started building a new settlement outpost in the heart of Hebron’s Old City.
