Egypt: Muslim Brotherhood reiterates support for Morsi on third anniversary of massacre

August 15, 2016 at 11:36 am

The Muslim Brotherhood pointed to the world’s silence regarding the dispersal of the Rabaa Al-Adawiya and Nahda sit-ins on the anniversary of the massacres and asked the international community to prosecute the perpetrators.

Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood said on Sunday that it will also not compromise Morsi’s legitimacy, who they described as the president for all Egyptians in comments published on their official Facebook page.

The group described their revolution as peaceful and insisted that they would continue to follow the objective of empowering the public.

On 14 August 2013, Egypt’s army and police dispersed two sit-ins of Morsi supporters resulting in the deaths of an estimated 632 people, including eight security personnel, according to the National Council for Human Rights in Egypt.
