Al-Zahar: Hamas ready for elections

Hamas is ready to partake in the elections and is doing what it can to ensure it is represented by the best candidates, a senior leader said,

In an interview with Al Jazeera Mubasher on Monday, Hamas’s political bureau member Mahmoud Al-Zahar said the election would not be won through propaganda, but through facts and figures.

“We are ready for the municipal elections with independent lists including a group of professionals, experts and those who have positive ideas for development,” Al-Zahar added.

He added that Hamas is concerned by the PA’s arrests of its members in the West Bank stressing that the elections cannot take place if the arrests continue.
