Israel receives 233 Jewish immigrants

233 Jewish immigrants from the United States and Canada arrived in Ben Gurion International Airport on Wednesday morning, Israel’s Channel 7 reported.

According to the channel, the new immigrants arrived aboard Al Boeing 777 chartered by Nefesh B’Nefesh in cooperation with the Israeli Immigrant Absorption Ministry, the Jewish Agency for Israel, Keren Kayemeth Le’Israel, JNF-USA and Tzofim-Garin Tzabar.

A ceremony was held at the airport to welcome the new immigrants which was attended by Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, Minister of Immigrant Absorption Sofa Landver and Chairman of the Israeli Scouts Eli Ben Yosef. Rabbi Yehoshua Fass and Tony Gelbart, co-founders of Nefesh B’Nefesh, also attended.

The group includes 75 young men and women who will immediately begin service in the Israeli army.
