PA: Al-Aqsa Mosque at risk

Al-Aqsa Mosque is at risk due to the “continuous Israeli aggression against it as well as all other Islamic and Christian sites in the occupied holy city,” the Palestinian Authority warned on Friday.

In a statement, the official spokesman of the PA government Yousef Al-Mahmoud said: “The measures used by the occupation against Al-Aqsa Mosque have not stopped since 1967. We are still witnessing clear violations against the third holiest place for Muslims.”

The PA official accused Israel of imposing “racist” measures including expelling worshipers from Al-Aqsa Mosque, arresting its guards and beating civilians.

According to the spokesman, “these policies are part of the Israeli government’s plans to occupy the blessed mosque and the other holy sites.” He stressed that these are “flagrant violations of international resolutions, human rights and ethics.”

Al-Mahmoud called on the Arab and Islamic countries to “urgently interfere” to save Al-Aqsa Mosque and the whole city from the Israeli aggression, which has “become a massive danger on Jerusalem and its Arabic and Islamic identity.”
