British rights group calls on Egypt to release 4 Palestinians believed to be detained in Cairo

The London-based Arab Organisation for Human Rights (AOHR) has called on Egypt to release four Palestinians who went missing over a year ago, Quds Press reported on Tuesday.

On 19 August 2015, Palestinians Yasser Zannoun, Khamis al-Zibda, Abdullah abulijbin and Abdullah abu-Lubda entered Egypt through the Rafah border crossing. After they made the crossing, they were removed from a bus and taken to an unknown location.

Egypt claimed not to be involved in the incident, saying that the men had been kidnapped by gunmen and blaming the instability in Sinai for their disappearance.

However, on Monday the families of the men showed a photograph of two of them reportedly inside an official Egyptian security base in Cairo.

The families refused to disclose the source of the photograph, which depicts one of the men lying on the ground and the other sitting beside a wall.
