Palestinian hunger striker Bilal Kayed ended his 71-day hunger strike yesterday after Israel ended his solitary confinement and pledged not to renew his administrative detention and to allow his family to visit him, Al-Resalah newspaper reported.

In a letter leaked the day before the end of his hunger strike, Kayed wrote:  “On day 70 of persistence and defiance battle that we have been involved in for the sake of Palestine and the resistance, we insist on achieving victory for every freedom fighter.”

“In my words, where the body and mind were fatigued, I say that my soul is still persistent and none of the world powers can defeat it. The choice is victory or victory. I see victory being very close so raise the victory sign now and forever.”

“I am committed to the oath of my people which is resistance until we achieve victory. So that, keep raising the victory sign until I achieve it with you,” he added.
