Some 300,000 school books have been allowed to enter the Gaza Strip from the occupied West Bank today through the Erez border crossing.

Israeli authorities allowed the books into the besieged Strip in preparation for the start of the new academic year in coordination with the Ministry of Education and the United Nations, the head of the media office of Gaza’s Ministry of Education Mutasim Al-Minawi told Ma’an.

Among the textbooks delivered were mathematics books for the second, third and fourth grade, science books for the third and fourth grades and writing books for the first and second grades.

The entry of the books has been stalled on more than one occasion, the director’s assistant Azzam Abu Bakir said.
