Israeli occupation forces killed a Palestinian in East Jerusalem’s Shuafat refugee camp in the early hours of this morning, at the end of a night raid on the camp.
Mustafa Nimr, 24, and his cousin Ali Nimr, were shot while driving in the camp. Mustafa died at the scene, Ali sustaining moderate injuries.
According to Israeli authorities, troops opened fire on the car after its occupants ignored instructions to stop. A statement released by a police spokesperson said that the car “approached them [the Israeli forces] swiftly and seemingly attempted to run over officers.”
Palestinian eyewitnesses, however, said there was no need for Israeli forces to open fire on the car.
Meanwhile, overnight Israeli occupation forces shot and injured two Palestinians during a raid of Sebastia, near Nablus, and shot and injured another Palestinian during a raid on Balata camp.
