Israel uproots more than 800 trees on Palestinian land in August

Israeli occupation forces and settlers razed and uprooted 867 trees on Palestinian agricultural lands in the West Bank in August.

The data was compiled by the Applied Research Institute – Jerusalem (ARIJ), and was included in their monthly report.

According to ARIJ, the Israeli army uprooted 130 olive trees south of Bethlehem, declaring that the area in question was “stand land”.

In Beit Ula, northwest of Hebron, Israeli occupation forces used bulldozers to raze 15 dunams (0.15 square kilometres) of land, destroying 300 olive trees in the process.

In the Salfit governorate, meanwhile, settlers accompanied by Israeli forces uprooted 250 olive trees, while in the Tulkarm region, Israeli authorities uprooted 187 trees and razed land.

ARIJ also noted that the military occupation authorities gave notice of their intent to uproot some 50 olive trees south of Nablus, on the basis that the land is “state land”.
