Labour Friends of Israel urges UK to ban senior Fatah official

September 9, 2016 at 6:11 pm

Labour Friends of Israel (LFI) has urged British Home Secretary Amber Rudd to ban senior Fatah official Jibril Rajoub from entering the UK.

In a letter from LFI chair Joan Ryan, the Westminster lobby group accuses the Fatah Central Committee member and head of the Palestinian Olympic Committee of “making statements which seek to incite terrorism and glorify its perpetrators.”

Rajoub is considered to be in the running for the position of successor to Mahmoud Abbas and is well-known as an opponent of Hamas.

The report in the Jewish News cites a spokesperson from Palestinian Media Watch, a pro-Israel advocacy group led by a West Bank settler, who describes Rajoub as “a leading supporter of terror”.
